Georgette Heyer

To those of you not reading the Smart Bitches blog, there's a raging controversy there in the original article and the comments thread about the 'D' review for Georgette Heyer's The Grand Sophy. "But what really soured this book for me was the anti-Semitism," Sarah Wendell wrote. "...knowing the depth of Heyer’s own anti-Semitism and bigotry makes it a bit more difficult to savor her books. I’m not sure I’ll be picking up a Heyer any time soon. Without [the villain character], I’d have probably graded this book at about a C+/B-."
