These are absolutely stunning! And on such a lovely sunny day I can imagine them in my garden border.
What a skill to take such photographs. And these flowers are so unusual, they immediately caught my eye.
Glad you're enjoying a sunny spring day. Do you have any of these usually in your garden?
For some reason when I saw your comment in email I read "border" as "bower" and thought: "Of course, Nicola must have a bower. It's in keeping with what I know of her." :)
I've grown mimulus before. Must give the others a try. We have very chalky soil here because of the downland and not all plants like it.
I'd love to have a bower! Must construct one of those.
Which is your favourite???
There you go. A 2010 summer project for you (or husband). Orange being my favorite color, the Crocosmia snagged my attention first. But I turned out to be rather fickle. When the Dahlia came long, I lost my heart to it.
Our backyard's clay and rain and since it backs into old growth forest, the tall evergreens allow no sunshine late fall to early spring, and even in the height of summer, weeds are the only things that flourish and two hardy apple trees. So I reserve my enthusiasm for the tiny flower bed in the front.
Keira, aren't they gorgeous? My favorite is the crocosmia.
Fo, don't say orange is your favorite color, too? Orange and yellow are my top faves. I would've thought navy and red were yours.
